Frame Restoration

Frames original to antique paintings or investment works are often best restored than replaced. Restoration of antique and period gilt picture frames can include the removal of inappropriate materials from previous repairs, structural repairs, gesso restoration, replication and replacement of missing ornamental elements and new gilding.

As with art restoration, the scope of work to be done can be discussed during an initial consultation, but in many cases the items need to be left with us to prepare a formal estimate.
